Followed by a stream study at Brookside nature center. We caught the larger of the crayfish, the larger of the tadpoles with leg buds, a total of 7 little minnows and a water strider.
May 30th ... Memorial day, close to 100 degrees outside. We went to Rocklands Farm's open house in Poolsville, MD. Growing organically and gorgeous place with very smart, fine, young agriculturists :) Ty got to hold a tiny little chick, both the boys played in the tire swing and got to dig in a big pile of corm with little trucks, I got a great tour with explanations, a huge butterhead lettuce, some strawberries and sausage. FABULOUS!
May 31st ... still ultra hot. We met with my friend Karine and 2 of her 3 boys at a pool for some splash time and a bit of lunch. We came home to splash some more and retreated to toys inside for the rest of the afternoon. I realized today that Owen can float for 11 seconds while holding his breath underwater and he's starting to mimic strokes to move forward. That's really cool! He is very happy wearing goggles so he can see and retrieve stuff underwater too :)
