The quintessential mother's day is when it falls on one of your kid's birthday right?! Well, on the same day 3 years ago, I hit the jackpot ... AGAIN! My little Ty was born without problems, fast and his birth was witnessed by big brother (he had just turned 2 years old a few weeks before) who had cheered me on and had counted while I was actively pushing his little brother into this world. My mom was there, she cut the umbilical cord. Our really good friend Eddie was there as well, to provide emotional support to Pete and help with Owen if it had been needed. Very soon after his birth, Owen and Ty shared the first of many nursing sessions hand in hand. I tandem nursed them, usually simultaneously at night time, for a beautiful 19 months.

And today ... my lively, loving, determined 3 year old directed our day: bike riding, Target for an emergency toilet paper run, ice cream, fun with dandelions and imagining shapes in the clouds, hair cuts for both boys, lollipops and teepee "dressing". He also wanted "birthday pizza but not from you Mama, from the pizza man". Wish granted.
