There's always something new

On the 14th we got our new freezer. Sort of a mother's day present, I have been wanting one to increase our freezing capacity. We have a tiny "under the fridge" kind of freezer and I can NEVER see anything in there, nor freeze trays of berries, let alone see what I am out of for the next time I go shopping. So here it is, with lots of room to spare (for now ...)

And then, there's her ... she just about gave me my 4 th bite of the season ... hmmm these first mosquitoes are hungry!

Ty performs his new bike trick: Look mommy, one hand!!

After Ty and I picked Owen up from school, we went on a hike to spot poison ivy for family sharing day this week. No, we are NOT sharing the tricky plant's itchiness, only finding the best spots to view it in its different stages.  Motivated and inspired by this little 50 minute trek within Woodend Sanctuary, Owen drew the second page of his new nature journal. Poison ivy through a few seasons. I am impressed.

All that was followed by a mostly rain free picnic by the mansion and a nice meeting with Ms Lisa and Ms Sarah to talk about possible homeschooling possibilities. The weird weather didn't slow us down a bit (as usual)
