So, incredibly sad ...
It's been 2 weeks since I've written something here. A lot has happened since.
Ty moved up to Little Dragons and Owen and I got our orange belts in Taekwondo
Badass eh??
Ty's performance was amazing. He really earned that new belt:
Fall has come ...
More critter care and fun times at ANS
Maizey eating
Eddie Spaghetti
Eddie Spaghetti eating
Boris getting a bath
... and a walk
Under my favorite tree species ... the chestnut
it's perfect fruit
Beautiful tree
And me ... goofing off ...
And playing with Instagram while bored in the car waiting for Owen. No I am not blond all of a sudden ... it's the picture.
But more significantly ... today was a sad day ... so, incredibly sad for our family. We had to make the horrible decision to put our 10 year old rescued doberman to sleep. Indie had been experiencing pain for close to a week ... no meds would help and he was only getting worse with no anomalies in any tests. My eyes are so red, swollen and burning from crying. He was my first baby, we adopted him when he was 2 and he was such a beautiful soul. It still seems surreal ... like it didn't really happen. But it did. Our vet came over with a tech, we put Indie on the deck in the sun on his bed ... Owen, Pete and I stayed with him and stroked him while the vet administered the final shot. It was peaceful and quiet. Pete, Ty and Owen had dug a hole in the back yard for him.
Pete carried him down where all of us helped burry him with his favorite ball and toy raccoon as well as a collar our friend Nancy (one of the only people on earth to understand Indie) had made for him.
My smiling dog ...
The boys made beautiful decorations with sticks and rocks on your special spot buddy ...
It was as good and peaceful as it could get and still ... it hurts so bad ...
So sorry to hear about Indie. It's great that the vet could come to your house and the boys were a part of it. I can't think of a better way for it to happen. Hugs to you, Judy

ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Judy
I agree with you Judy. They both had a great night and Owen came in wondering if we dreamt of Indie ... he didn't and seemed at peace with that.
