Sleep, Halloween and motos in the woods
When the boys fall asleep, they just drop dead. I mean, they fight a great battle for a long while but when their bodies give up, well ... that's it.
Halloween brings out Owen's creativity like nothing else. He always comes up with the BEST costume ideas and we, as a family, try to do our best to make costumes with our own hands as well as use what we already have.
I can only recall of his very first Halloween, he couldn't talk obviously, when he didn't have any input in his costume at all and I had fallen in love with a very particular pumpkin costume on Ebay, which Ty ended up wearing in time. The 2nd one was a hand-me-down from friends, which Owen really liked anyway. Of course, Ty wore the same 2 for his first 2 Halloweens.
Here is a recap of Owen and Ty's choices in the last 5 years (well, Ty decided only last year for the first time), plus their first costume because they were so cute in it!!!
Chubby little Owen at 6 months
18 months old gorilla
2.5 year old bat
2.5 year old Owen-bat and 5 months old Ty-pumpkin
3.5 year old Owen in his garbage truck costume
3.5 year old Owen and 17 months old Ty-gorilla at Scary Perry in Kensington
Last year's costume: 4.5 year old Owen the apple tree (complete with nest hat on top)
2.5 year old Ty as a bee and 4.5 year old Owen as an apple tree
Ty's bee costume last year
This year, Owen wanted to be an ice cream cone. Ty then said he wanted to be an ice cream sandwich but then changed his mind after finding Owen's old garbage truck costume in the basement. So here they are in preparation for this year, Owen the ice cream cone and Ty the garbage truck:
the hat is the "cherry on top"
He wouldn't stop making crazy faces for the pictures ... this one is the best ... he looks like a Dr Seuss character!
truck modified for Ty
Finally, a little motorcycle riding in a section of woods not far from our house:
Love, love, love the soundtrack to the boys on the motor bikes!! :) Henry hasn't decided what he's going as this year for Halloween, but Lucy wants to be a mime, and Nate is either going as an eagle (Henry's last year) or an octopus or a jellyfish. He's open... :) Hope you're good. -Gail
