Things grow fast around here

Like ... when squirrels forget where they hide their acorns and baby oaks pop out of nowhere. They certainly look cool and are always an opportunity to talk about plant development with the boys


And when you build something thinking it might have moderate use or success but turns out to be a frequent hangout and a place to play ...

I built the base for the giant bird's nest at Audubon Naturalist Society's Woodend Sanctuary in the fall. It didn't look like much but it was a project I had wanted to do for a whole year, had a tough time getting approval for it (long story) and was finally able to do this fall



This is what it looks like as of yesterday. It's taller than Ty in some areas!!! This rocks!!
